Z-Wave device database

The pepper1 device database is no longer maintained, and is already woefully out of date.

For example, the Jasco-manufactured GE switches, dimmers and motion detectors are all missing, even though they are probably the most widely-distributed Z-Wave devices in the U.S., appearing on the shelves of Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Walmart.

So … there has to be a way that we can make our own entries into our local copy of the database. Uusually, when I have a question or problem like this, I find that someone else has already solved it.

Anybody???

Hi, @cooldog.

Look at the brief discussion here: http://old.homegenie.club:8080/www.homegenie.it/forum/index0c86.html?topic=1975.0
You can add your own device descriptions into p1db_custom.xml file.

In general, right now there are only two services with information about Z-Wave devices:

But both of them are using another format of device information which doesn’t support the translation of parameters’ names, for example.

Thanks so much. I’ll give that a try.
